The violence the gangs bring caused these volunteer programs to move to the nearby and very small neighborhood of Villa Rubia. Organizations from both communities came together to better develop the voluntary activities, which included soccer.<br>\nSara and Giovani, two other youngsters, came from other cities in Colombia to help with the renovations of the field and to share their extensive experience in street soccer.<br>\nIn spite of very harsh weather, with temperatures that exceeded 46\u00b0 Celsius (114.8\u00b0 F), the DIRECTV volunteers managed to finish the work on time.<br>\nThe inauguration resulted in a great celebration and, as a grand finale, the young protagonists were treated to an afternoon of just beach and sea.<br>\n\u00a0\n<\/div>\n<\/body>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jonathan and Ismael are young agents of change who run \u201csoccer for peace\u201d workshops in the dangerous Olaya Herrera community in Cartagena.
